- Medical Weight LossMedicare beneficiaries with a diagnosis of diabetes, non-dialysis kidney disease or post-kidney transplant are eligible for medical nutrition therapy. Medicare beneficiaries with a Body Mass Index of 30 or greater are eligible for weight loss therapy.
- Primary CareEarly diagnosis of kidney disease is the key to managing patient health. Kidney disease often goes undetected until the kidneys are at failure and require dialysis or transplantation. Understanding the risk factors and the symptoms of CKD enable early detection and effective disease management. When primary care physicians work closely with our nephrologists, we are able to slow the progression of the disease and keep out patients healthier longer.
- ImmunizationsPikes Peak Nephrology recommends that all patients diagnosed with Chronic Kidney Disease receive the Covid-19 vaccination. It is especially important that you receive the vaccine if you have additional medical conditions such as heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, COPD, or are on dialysis. If you are on intravenous (iv) medications for your Kidney Disease, please contact our office for more specific instructions prior to receiving the vaccine.
- Internal MedicineAll of our nephrologists are certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and Nephrology. This certification represents a minimum of three years of training in Internal Medicine with additional sub-specialty training in nephrology and the passing of two rigorous certifying examinations–one in Internal Medicine and the other in the Internal Medicine sub-specialty, Nephrology.
- NephrologyPlease do not come to our office if you are sick, have a fever, or any other symptoms of COVID-19. This is for the protection of all Pikes Peak Nephrology patients, physicians and staff members.
