Cheyenne Village was founded in 1971 by a group of parents of adult children with developmental disabilities. As one of the first community programs in the nation, the goal was to help individuals with developmental disabilities live as independently as possible through customized supports. Cheyenne Village is a place where people with developmental disabilities live and work. The staff at Cheyenne Village ensures that the residents contribute to society, make independent choices and pursue their own vision of happiness. Cheyenne Village is a community of people from diverse backgrounds and with widely varied needs and interests who have comprised the character of this organization. Cheyenne Village provides a variety of services designed to maximize each individual s life potential and is located in Colorado Springs, Colo.
