- Dental ExaminationRegular visits to the dentist (typically recommended every six months), are crucial for maintaining oral health. Some people need to be seen more frequently, some, a little less frequently. But everyone should be on some type of recall routine with their dentist, to be sure their oral health is being monitored: the bacterial level is maintained, tartar is removed, the gums are healthy, and that no oral cancer is present. These visits allow for professional cleaning that removes plaque and tartar buildup, and dental exams that can detect early signs of oral health issues.
- X-raysCBCT stands for “Cone Beam Computed Tomography” scan. It is a special type of x-ray equipment used when regular dental x-rays are not sufficient, or as a supplement to them. In addition to extremely detailed views of the underlying bone structures and nerves, CBCT scans also show images of the soft tissues including the gums, nerves, sinuses, etc., which help us in planning your treatment with far better predictability.
- Oral Cancer ScreeningIn addition to cancer screening, oral exams also provide an opportunity for dentists to identify and diagnose other potential issues such as cavities, broken fillings, failing crowns, and the early stages of gum disease. These issues, if left untreated, can lead to more serious problems requiring more complex and expensive treatments. Routine exams help to catch these problems early, often when they’re most treatable.
- Teeth CleaningI had my six month teeth cleaning and xrays. My hygienist, Linda, is the best. She is engaging; always makes you feel welcome and comfortable. More importantly, she is thorough but gentle. As good an experience as is possible. The staff is always cheerful and pleasant.

- Gold RestorationsWith each new restoration of a tooth, more and more natural tooth structure is removed and replaced with either composite, amalgam, porcelain or gold restorations (fillings, onlays, inlays). When a tooth reaches the point where there is more dental restorative material than natural enamel, it is at risk for fracture. This is often why a crown is recommended. Crowns cover the entire tooth and protect it from breakage.
- VeneersFor teeth that are misshapen or a different color than you’d like, we offer long-lasting, natural looking aesthetic restorations. Our bonding, inlays, onlays, and porcelain veneers are made of the most durable materials in the industry. They provide beautiful, natural looking results.
- CrownsDo you want the incisal edges of your teeth more curved around the corners to be a little more feminine? Or more straight across? The shapes of the teeth themselves, more square or more round? These changes can all be obtained through crowns for a smile that is perfectly YOU.
- BridgesIs your smile held back by broken, chipped, or missing teeth? We offer beautiful porcelain crowns and bridges to restore the appearance of your smile and maintain the functionality of your teeth, allowing you to chew properly and comfortably.

- Oral SurgeryAfter having oral surgery, it is important to carefully follow any post-operative instructions from your dentist. Following these instructions can help speed healing and minimize the risk of complications, such as dry sockets, excessive swelling, or infection. There are some general instructions that apply to most oral surgery procedures. We will provide you with specific oral surgery aftercare instructions before your procedure to help you prepare for the recovery process.
- Jaw SurgeryImplant treatments range from the immediate replacement of an extracted tooth to over six months when jaw surgery and bone grafting is needed. The average treatment is three to six months. Most of the time required to complete implant treatment is taken up just waiting for the bone to fuse completely with the implant. This usually takes a few months and goes on below the gum line without any feeling or awareness. In more complex cases treatment may be longer.
- Flap SurgerySurgical Procedure: Mini implants can be placed using less invasive techniques, sometimes requiring no flap surgery, which means the gum tissue is not cut and peeled back. This can lead to shorter healing times and result in less discomfort post-surgery compared to regular implants, which often require a more invasive procedure with a longer healing period.
- Maxillofacial SurgeryEducation (Training) – there are only three dental specialties that teach their residents to do dental implant treatment: Prosthodontics, Periodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery... with Prosthodontics being the only specialty that also teaches that part of Implantology that happens above the gums (prostheses – crowns, bridges, dentures, All-on-4). These specialty programs are 3 or 4 years beyond the completion of dental school.
- Tooth ExtractionsMost dental implant procedures involve less discomfort than a tooth extraction. When we see patients for follow up visits, most of them tell us how surprised they were with how little discomfort they had! (TRUE!) Our office is equipped with doctors and a staff trained to safely provide conventional methods of anesthesia as well as a variety of intravenous sedation anesthesia options. Operative procedures will seem both pleasant and brief when effective local and IV anesthesia is chosen. We cover how painful dental implants are in more detail in a dedicated blog post.
- Bone GraftingSocket Preservation Bone Grafting – this is a fairly benign method of attempting to preserve the bone volume in the socket, after extraction. The dentist fills the socket with bank bone, covers it with a non-resorbable Teflon membrane and allows the socket to heal for approximately 25 days at which time the membrane is removed and the socket left to heal for 3-6 months. Studies have shown that this technique can preserve 30% more bone than allowing the socket to heal without intervention.
- Orthodontics
- Invisalign OrthodonticsInvisalign is made with 3-D computer imaging technology. You wear each set of aligners for about 2 weeks, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. As you replace each aligner with the next in the series, your teeth will move – little by little, week by week – until they have straightened to their final position. The total treatment time averages between 9-24 months and the average number of aligners worn during treatment is usually between 18 and 48, but both will vary from case to case.
- BracesBraces have come a long way over the years. Today’s brackets are smaller and less noticeable than they used to be and newer materials help us to straighten teeth faster and with less discomfort than they used to. Treatment time varies, depending on how much movement needs to take place, but the average is usually between 12-24 months.
- Teeth WhiteningTeeth whitening has surged in popularity in recent years. While teeth are generally white, tooth enamel can vary in shade and become discolored over time. Discoloration can stem from various causes, including diet, lifestyle, injury, or illness. One of the most common desires people have for improving their smiles is achieving whiter teeth.
