Established in 1901, the Camp Jewell YMCA is a nonprofit organization located in Colebrook, Conn. The organization s Activate America program offers a variety of facilities and services that promote healthy living, exercise and nutrition programs. Its facilities include a science center, pottery studio, dining hall, amphitheater, sports complex and meeting rooms. The Camp Jewell YMCA supports several sports activities, such as basketball, tennis, volleyball, soccer, baseball, shuffleboard and tetherball. The organization operates family and summer day camps that provide classes in archery, candle-making, hiking, fishing, and arts and crafts. Its camps also offer various seasonal activities, including snow-tubing, cross country skiing, ice skating, swimming, kayaking and boating. The Camp Jewell YMCA is a part of the YMCA of Greater Hartford.
