The Rehabilitation Center at Fletcher Allen Health Care, established in 1986, provides medical assistance and rehabilitation services to patients recovering from amputation, head injuries, knee and hip replacements, fractures and spinal cord injury, strokes and illness. The center s areas of expertise include clinical psychology, athletic training, speech and language pathology, audiology and orthopedic rehabilitation. It also undertakes community outreach programs and provides clinical education programs to students from various universities throughout the United States. The rehabilitation services offered by the department include physical, occupational, aquatic and therapeutic recreational therapies. The Rehabilitation Center at Fletcher Allen Health Care is approved by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations and is located in Colchester, Vt.
