Greenbriar Inn and Catering
General Info
The Greenbriar Inn was built in 1908 as a boarding house. We have seven guest rooms, four of which are quite large, and three which are of a regular bedroom size. All of our guest rooms have private baths and queen sized beds. We have an on-site restaurant called 315 Cuisine. We serve dinner Wednesday - Sunday 3:15 - close and we have brunch on Saturday & Sunday. The Greenbriar is situated just a few blocks from the downtown strip and lake. Guests staying with us any evenings Wed- Sun receive a $35 credit to the restaurant which they may use during any of the hours above. We also provide a "nice grab n go" breakfast station for folks who need to get up and go early. The Greenbriar Inn was built in 1908 as a boarding house. Casual check in and out process, had to look for someone to help us, but everyone was friendly. We ate in the restaurant and really enjoyed the drinks and food. The room was very nicely done with kind of a funky bathroom, but it worked. The breakfast was left in a fridge on our floor and was just so-so. Maybe there's more of a breakfast on weekends? Nice location.

We have stayed at the Greenbriar last month and were greatly disappointed, The place was stuffy, unfriendly, furnished with old, cheap chunk and after checking in we were pretty much ignored. There was no hot water for the evening shower and no breakfeast, which was supposedly included. The bathroom doppeled as our closet and there was only street parking. Never again!!!

I have traveled to Coeur d'Alene three times and have always stayed here. The building has a wonderful character from its history of being everything from a school for nuns to a cathouse, the rooms are huge and very clean, and the staff is just great! An added bonus is the restaurant downstairs with great food and drink (try the meatballs with sweet and sour huckleberry sauce, or ask for a "Last Word" at the bar). Location is perfect - just a few minutes walk from the lake, the docks and downtown. Overall, I could not have enjoyed any of my stays more, and give this B&B my highest recommendation.
