Founded in 1986, The Foundation for Independent Living is a private, nonprofit, community-based living program for adults with learning disabilities. It is located nearby shopping, public transportation and recreational facilities. The Foundation for Independent Living conducts a range of outdoor activities, such as biking, camping, fishing, canoeing, volleyball, jet skiing and miniature golf. Its residents also visit several attractions and amusement parks, such as Sea World, Parrot Jungle, Butterfly World, Lion Country Safari, Metro Zoo and Carnivals. The Foundation for Independent Living celebrates a range of events, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and bridal and baby showers. It is located in Coconut Creeks, Fla.
