It administers annual budget control, long-term financial planning, revenue collection, cash investment and inventory maintenance services. The department additionally issues, collects and processes bills for sewer, water, stormwater and garbage services. It oversees bid processing, as well as monitors and approves purchases made by the city government. The department also issues parking permits and processes fines for parking meter violations. It is responsible for the collection of franchise revenues and parking citations. The Finance Department is governed by the City of Cocoa Beach in Florida, which also operates fire, police, public works and water reclamation departments.
