Dr. Glen Tonnessen is a cardiologist at Hunterdon Medical Center. He completed his medical residency in Internal Medicine at St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark, New Jersey. He completed his fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine at Seton Hall University where he was Chief Cardiology Fellow. Dr. Glen Tonnessen is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease, Nuclear Cardiology and Vascular Medicine. He is a fellow in the American College of Cardiology. He is the founder of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at Hunterdon Medical Center.

Dr. Tonnessen and his staff are extremely well-prepared, pleasant and professional. Marisa in scheduling and all of the pre and post-op staff are excellent. Th doctor takes the time to listen to one's concerns. I am satisfied with my results.

My first Ultra sound was done at the HMC rather than at the vein Institute. if you do this procedure, get your ultra sound at the vein institute!!!! The wrong vein was mapped at the HMC and the laser surgery was not done as planned. But Dr Tonnessen recognized this and worked with was what was approved by the insurance company and he did a scelaratherapy on the groin vein that was giving me great pain. My pain was taken away right away! Great staff! Sue is the best ultra sound tech, go with her for all your ultra sounds!

Everyone in the practice was great. They explained the procedures so that I was comfortable with what they would be doing. I had quite extensive work done on the veins in my legs and they look and feel so much better.
My overall experience here was excellent. Dr. Tonnesson took his time explaining the procedures. I would recommend The Vein Institute of Hunterdon to any one who needs varicose vein treatment.
