We stopped at this Howard Johnson's on our way home from Pine Island, FL in March '08. Their onsite restaurant, N'Awlins, was a delightful surprise. My husband had grilled catfish; I had a combo of jambalaya, gumbo, and red beans and rice with andouille sausage. Each was seasoned perfectly. The highlight of our meals, though, was the carrot souffle prepared by the owner. It's become one of our favorite treats to make at home. The professional but endearing demeanor of the owners and their daughter, our server that evening, was also a joyful experience. Service was impeccable, and the atmosphere jovial. This will be a regular stop. If you're ready for fabulous food, great service and a jazzy atmosphere, give N'Awlins a try. The fact it's also reasonably priced is just lagniappe!
