Self-Defense Insurance, Magazine Subscriptions, Concealed Carry Textbooks, Advanced techniques and specialized resources for women and children all available for purchase here. Concealed Weapons Permit Class – $125 (Clermont Concealed Carry Classes fill up quickly – Register now.) This is a comprehensive class for those individuals preparing to apply for their permit to carry a concealed weapon. This is a 4-5 hour class, plus additional time on the firing range. We will cover: Developing a Personal and Home Protection Plan – Conflict avoidance, situational awareness, cover, concealment, escape and purpose of a carry permit. Self-Defense Firearms Basics – Operation and safe handling of a firearm, gun selection, care and ammunition. Defensive Shooting Fundamentals – Defensive mindset and preparation, proper grip, stance, sight picture, target alignment and trigger control. The Legal Use of Force – Rules of deadly force, reasonable force, prosecution and the courts, defending home and property and state specific laws. Violent Encounters and Their Aftermath – Fight or flight, physiological effects of adrenaline, recognizing a threat, issuing commands, no other choice, after the shot, phone calls, police interaction, statements and legal and financial protection. Gear and Gadgets – Holsters, flashlights, gun safes and storage. Basic and Advanced Skills – Creating a training program, dry firing, and fundamental drills. All students should bring the firearm they anticipate carrying, unloaded and securely encased. Students also should bring a pen and paper, at least 25 rounds of ammunition, hearing protection and safety glasses. A bag lunch and drinks are recommended; water and coffee will be provided. If you do not have a firearm, let us know and you can rent one from us.
