West Clayton Elementary is a part of the Johnston County School District, which operates several elementary, middle and high schools. Founded in 1969, West Clayton Elementary serves students in kindergarten through grade three. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, science, social studies and language arts. The school supports a variety of extracurricular programs in art, music, violin, physical education, and technology and media studies. In addition, West Clayton Elementary operates several student organizations, such as a student council and chorus. It provides medical care, speech therapy, and guidance and counseling services to students. The school also provides the English as a Second Language program.
