Commencing commercial operation in 1983, the Thompson Creek Mining Company is engaged in the exploration, development, mining and processing of molybdenum, an essential resource that is used worldwide. Molybdenum, called the modern metal, makes the products used on a daily basis stronger, safer, longer lasting and more energy efficient. Molybdenum from Thompson Creek Mine is sold around the world to steel and other manufacturers. Located in the rugged mountainous terrain of Clayton, Idaho, Thompson Creek is a state of the art mining operation. Thompson Creek complies with federal environmental laws including the Clean Water Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act and the Endangered Species Act.
