I am so tired of Pitbulls and their owners getting a bad rap ALL the time!!! I would have been upset too if I were the owner of that pitbull. Maybe that was your karma coming back on you. Getting called out and making such a big deal over nothing. Judging an animal you don't even know?? based on what?? They are always having to defend this Highly intelligent, loyal, obedient breed because some idiot Humans decided that they wanted to make money off this animal and fight them. There is a terrible stigma attached to these underdogs. You always here the bad (Like this review) and never hear the good. I have been exposed to many pitbulls throughout my lifetime and never, ever had a problem with aggression. I am very sure that if that were a poodle or pug the outcome would have been very different..Please people..Get Educated!!!!!

My family and I visited Beechacres Park on Salem Avenue. It is usually a great place for children to play in their sandbox and cool off in the water. Unfortunately, we had a poor experience on our last visit today where a Pit Bull was permitted to stay in the children's play area even after a complaint was made to a park worker. It was only after a second complaint and a clear reference to the posted park rules that the park worker then asked the Pit Bull owner to remove the dog from the children's play area. Unfortunately for my husband and I, the park worker also informed the Pit Bull owner that it was my husband who was the complainant and I was subject to threats while walking to the car from the Pit Bull owner. It is possible that I would have felt differently about any other breed of dog, but the reality is that it didn't matter what type of dog it was. Employees should be aware of the posted rules and enforce them so that patrons do not have to get involved.
