Dr. Elmer W. Harder is an Obstetrician & Gynecologist serving the San Diego South Bay area where he has had the privilege of delivering over 14,000 babies, as well as performed thousands of gynecological surgeries. His warm bedside manner and always genuine caring is what patients remember the most. Dr. Harder was born in Brazil and is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Loma Linda, California and his medical degree from the Universidad de Autonoma, Mexico. His post graduate Internship was at University of Loma Linda Medical School and he completed a four year specialty residency in OB/GYN at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA). During the last 30 years, Dr. Harder has contributed to local hospitals as acting Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as well as served on several Medical Executive Committees. He has had the distinctive honor of being requested to serve as member of the Hospital Board of Directors and has been bestowed with the Patient Choice Award. Dr. Harder maintains active privileges at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center and Paradise Valley Hospital. His special interests are to provide the highest Obstetrical Care to the South Bay community and in his spare time he enjoys spending time with his Family, Traveling and Fishing.
