Community Options is a regional provider of residential and employment services for people with disabilities. Founded in 1991, it is a nonprofit corporation that is located in Chillicothe, Mo. The corporation offers housing, transportation, employment and educational opportunities, as well as preserves the dignity and rights of disable persons. Community Options also provides transition services for high school juniors and seniors with disabilities to assist them in career planning after graduation. Its fee for services is paid through third-party funding sources. Its In-home Respite Care is a temporary relief program for families of individuals with developmental disabilities. The corporation s Off Site Day Habilitation Program assists individuals in various areas of their daily lives, including budgeting and community integration. Community Options has a staff of job development specialists, assistants and counselors.
