- Dental ExaminationBased on the recommendation of the American Academy Of Pediatric Dentistry, your child’s first dental exam should be scheduled soon after his or her first tooth erupts and by their first birthday. Subsequent appointments should be made every 6 months. Should you have any questions for your child’s visit or dental exam at Kids Plus, please do not hesitate to contact our office either by phone, or email.

- Teeth CleaningAt Kids Plus Pediatric Dentistry, our staff works with your child to make exams easier and less intimidating. Our child-friendly, fun atmosphere helps keep him or her relaxed before and during exams and teeth cleanings, making the entire process less stressful your child – and you.
- Fluoride TreatmentDuring future exams, the dentist or hygienist will clean your child’s teeth and monitor the eruption of new teeth and the growth of your child’s jaw and mouth. Fluoride treatments will be administered every 6 months as recommended by the AAPD.
- Dental SealantsSealants have become a popular tool for the prevention and treatment of cavities in children. A safe, plastic coating that is applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth, dental sealants are an effective way to prevent cavities. They coat the teeth, providing a barrier that prevents bacteria from reaching the teeth.
- CrownsRecover the tooth, making sure to hold it by the crown (top) and not the root end. Rinse, but do not clean or handle the tooth more than necessary. Reinsert the tooth in the socket and hold it in place using a clean piece of gauze or cloth. If the tooth cannot be reinserted, carry it in a cup containing milk or water. Because time is essential, see a dentist immediately.
