Dr. Gregory Fahrenbach is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in arthroscopic surgical procedures, hip and knee joint replacements, sports medicine, fracture care, and treatment of work-related injuries. His practice focuses on providing compassionate, high-quality orthopaedic care to help each patient achieve the best possible outcome. He strives to make patients true partners in their care by carefully explaining medical conditions and outlining appropriate nonsurgical and surgical treatment options. Following this approach, Dr. Fahrenbach aims to address the unique needs of each patient to speed their recovery time and optimize results. Dr. Fahrenbach grew up in a medical family on Chicagos Northwest Side. His father, Donald, was an obstetrician, who delivered many of the people who now come to Dr. Gregory Fahrenbach for their orthopaedic problems. Dr. Fahrenbach became interested in orthopaedics while working in an orthopaedic clinic prior to attending medical school.Dr. Fahrenbach completed his Orthopaedic Residency and Internship at Northwestern Universitys Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago and is a founding partner of Northwest Orthopaedic Associates and Sports Medicine. He was elected by his peers to serve as the President of the Medical Staff at Resurrection Medical Center in 2012 and chaired the hospitals Department of Orthopaedic Surgery for 17 years. Dr. Fahrenbach is committed to educating the next generation of medical professionals and held an appointment as a clinical instructor in Northwestern Universitys Department of Orthopaedic Surgery for 23 years. He continues to train physicians and physician assistants through AMITA Health Resurrection Medical Center.Dr. Fahrenbach and his family dedicate a considerable amount of time and resources to Misericordia, a home for more than 600 adults and children with developmental disabilities. Run by his wifes aunt, Sister Rosemary Connelly, Misericordias world-class facility has been home to Dr. Fahrenbachs brother-in-law for 35 years. Dr. Fahrenbachs commitment to the residents of Misericordia has shown him the importance of kindness and respect in dealing with all people. He tries to incorporate these qualities in his daily interactions with patients.
