Dr. Elborno's areas of clinical expertise include and are not limited to, treatment of neck and back pain with sciatica and pinched nerves ( cervical and lumbar radiculopathies ), failed back syndrome ( post laminectomy pain syndrome ), intractable headaches facial pain syndromes, complex regional pain syndrome, peripheral neuropathies, spasticity and compression fractures related to osteoporosis. He is a highly qualified specialist for various pain conditions. He provides the latest techniques and modalities available in the field of interventional pain management, using state of the art minimally invasive techniques, which utilize percutaneous treatment including effective needle and probe techniques which minimize patient discomfort while avoiding many surgical and anesthetic risks and expenses. His areas of technical expertise include and not limited to spinal cord stimulaton, peripheral nerve stimulaton, cervical and lumbar discography, percutaneous disc decompression, intrathecal pumps, vertebroplasty, facet blocks, nerve blocks, and joint injections. Ahmed Elborno, M.D is the director of Advanced Chicago Pain and Spine Physician Centers/ Midwest Academy of Pain and Spine. He is the director of the Pain Management Center of Excellence at Hinsdale Hospital, and he is Medical Director/Anesthesiologist at Advanced Ambulatory Surgical Center in Chicago. Licensed in the state of Illinois and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, he holds board certifications from the American Board of Anesthesiology, subspecialty in Pain Management, American Board of Pain Medicine, American Board of Pain Management, Competence and Narcotic Certification, American Board of Minimally Invasive Spine Specialists, American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians (ABIPP), and the Fellow of International Pain Physicians (FIPP).
