The Commercial Club of Chicago is a nonprofit, member-owned organization that is comprised of business, professional, educational and cultural leaders. Founded in 1877, it oversees several social and economic issues. The club also offers a range of community development services. The Commercial Club of Chicago has more than 450 members. It has completed Metropolis Project, which includes various public policy issues, such as education, economic development, taxation, governance, transportation housing and land use. The club s Civic Committee undertakes public school improvement and air transportation projects in Illinois.
