- Dental ExaminationDuring your first visit to the orthodontist, Dr. Therese will conduct a preliminary and complimentary comprehensive examination to determine your orthodontic needs. If orthodontic treatment is deemed necessary, we will then discuss the existing orthodontic issues, available treatment options, and a timeline of the proposed treatment. Dr. Therese will be able to answer any questions that you may have about the proposed orthodontic treatment process. At this time, you will also be able to discuss orthodontic treatment costs and payment plans with our treatment and financial coordinators.
- X-raysWe use the highest standard of digital radiography in all of our pediatric and dental X-rays. Our system offers images of much higher quality, while greatly reducing radiation exposure to a fraction of conventional radiography. The system is then completely integrated with our patient charting, which allows us to use machines which produce less radiation than other systems, and our high-tech sensors are more comfortable than traditional paper films. In short, taking X-rays for your child will be as easy and low in radiation as possible.

- Jaw SurgeryThis adult patient, age 25, required braces and jaw surgery to correct his severe overbite, with treatment taking two years. His problem could have been corrected without surgery if he had been treated before he was a teenager.
- Tooth ExtractionsIn a smaller percentage of cases, early treatment (often called Phase I treatment) is deemed necessary. It is most often required when there are developing jaw or tooth eruption issues. When treatment begins early, the orthodontist can guide the growth of the jaw and incoming permanent teeth. Early treatment can also regulate the width of the upper and lower dental arches, gain space for permanent teeth, and avoid the need for permanent tooth extractions. It can also reduce the likelihood of impacted permanent teeth and correct certain oral habits such as thumb and finger sucking. In other words, in some cases, early treatment can simplify later treatment.
