Good news is I got a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for $43/day, including weekends. Bad news is the oil change light came on before I left the lot and the brakes squeaked very loudly the entire four days. Fun to have a Jeep with 14 year old son for the weekend, but am a little cautious about their maintenance process.
The thing I like most about National Car Rental is that they are easy to do business with. I'm part of the Emerald Club so you go in, pick a car and show your licence on the way out at the gate. It's that simple. Returning the car is just as easy. My company has a contract with National and it is working great. I have used different rental companies over the years and I can say National provides the best overall customer experience.

Well this after 7-8 yrs I rented a car from National, because my new employer has corp tie up with them. I land at airport pick up shuttle area, I see shuttle, bus door is open, Reach the door to board the shuttle, BOOM!!! the driver shuts the door on my face - literally felt like he wanted me not to board. I thought he didnt see me. I waited for next bus which took good 10-12 mins to come, boarded that bus and I see exactly same event repeat with another customer who was trying to board this shuttle and the driver just shut the door at his face. That tells me that shuttle drivers are very very poor in being careful and courteous. Then I reach at the car pick up area, this is my first time so I went to the counter. The guy at counter says you are an Emerald member you can pick any car. I asked him to help me understand the process, the guy walks off and I had to literally talk to another customer to pick a car and leave. Worst horrible experience I ever had. All went well with my recent trip rental at O'Hare. I was able to quickly pick out a prepared Buick Encore vehicle and get on my way. My company has a national plan so I was glad when they said the toll tag service was already included, a very helpful thing, same with the prepaid gas refill service at a reasonable price. The return check in was quick and easy. The rental experience was a good part of my trip. As for the O'Hare airport, that leaves a lot to be desired....

National is my company of choice. their Emerald service is terrific and I'm a loyal customer. Their car selection is great. O'Hare is a busy place, so it's not always easy to get in and out of there, but I had a very good experience with National as usual. Very quick and professional.

Excellent vehicle, a Hyundai Sonata. My first time driving this brand. Great service at pick up and return. Bus returned us quickly to the main terminal and I made my flight.
On May 8th 2015, I realized that I had left my sunglasses ($250) in the car and I had already boarded the plane. When I called the number, some call center personnel answered and gave me the direct line. After calling this number and holding forever, I got a voice message asking to leave a message or email. I left a message AND emailed only for the email to bounce. After a few days, I spoke to a real person who took the details and said they would let me know. It's May 20th 2015 as of this writing and I have neither heard from them nor have I been able to contact them as my calls end up going to their voice mail.

The car was OK, when I picked it up I got the gps and it had no bag- the person said "I don't have one, it's OK" when I went to return the car it was a problem. NOT GOOD

Staff was polite, friendly and efficient. They did a good job getting me into a car and out of the parking lot quickly. Would rtecommend and would use again.

I was very pleased with the service at this location (O'hare Air Port). I was in and out in about 10 mins. I had made my reservation online. There were several cars available to select from. It was the fastest I've ever rented a vehicle. An the price was excellent. I will be renting with them again.

Bus drivers are helpful and friendly. Cars are readily accessible and ready to go. Return is easy and fast. I highly recommend this location.

I use this location several times a year. The cars are just steps from the shuttle bus, and always clean inside and out. The shuttle bus drivers are mostly friendly and helpful.

Everything went like clockwork from friendly direction to find the car to checking out to checking in. Their customer service reps are truly professional and totally met my needs. The car performed flawlessly and have absolutely no complaints.

The National Team had everything ready for my rental when I checked out. It made the process seamless. The attendant reviewed the rental agreement with me to make sure there were no other needs. Returning the car was simple and quick. I had the email receipt before I reached the airport.

The team is very responsive and supportive of customer needs. I was very impressed how dedicated the team was in making sure that I got a car that I really liked. It's been a great experience dealing with them.
The cars are nice, new, clean. Picking out a car is easy. Getting out of the lot can be a long wait. It takes approx 5 min for the guard at the exit to process each car, so if 2 cars are in front of you at the exit gate, you're slowed down by 15 minutes. The bill was about $100 higher than i expected and loaded with obscure charges and taxes.

My company mistakenly book my car reservation at National and I am glad that they did. First time to use National and the experience was awesome. From the friendly staff to the cars, they are great. No hassle in replacing cars, asking I would require our company to book me at National wherever state I go, sorry Enterprise you are good but National is way better!
