- Residential Pest ControlProtect your home with pest control. A thorough inside/outside treatment twice per year is more effective and less intrusive than a regular monthly service. When working in your home, we will always take your children and pets in to consideration. At no additional charge, emergency service calls for covered pests are provided in between services. Additionally, we save you money with discounts for package customers.
- Commercial Pest ControlMonroe Pest Control, Inc. has been providing residential and commercial pest control services to greater NW Indiana since 1929. The company is now in its third generation of ownership by the Wilson family, who have maintained their status and reputation in this industry by focusing on customer service and satisfaction.
- AntsCarpenter Ants will not eat the wood, but rather bore through to make their homes. A key indicator of these WDIs is seeing “frass”. As movement increases this frass will be forced through any possible opening. They can be found throughout the interior and exterior of homes.
- SpidersTreatments are performed with our truck mounted “power spraying” units which allow us to apply the insecticide under pressure at appropriate volumes. In this manner we can thoroughly treat mulch, rock and grass at grade level where crawling insects’ nest and forage. We are also able to reach high peaks, eaves and decks for wasps, spiders and carpenter bees.

- Bed BugsBedbugs are 3/16 inches long flat oval insects that are reddish brown in color. Dubbed the parasite of humans, this insect’s food source is human blood. They progress to the next stage of development through instars that require a blood meal before shedding their exterior skin and growing. An impregnated female will also require a blood meal before she is able to lay eggs. Due to their prolific breeding cycle, a minor infestation can become major within a couple months.
- Fleas“People are controlling their own flea problems because they get products for their pets from veterinarians. The flea portion of our business is all but dead.”
- Cockroaches“Yes, I went with my father on a roach job at Slick’s Laundry on 5th Avenue and Broadway in Gary. It was one of our commercial accounts. The conditions of a Laundromat are good for roaches with all that heat and steam.”
- BeesCarpenter Bees bore a perfect 1/2” hole in exterior structures. They are notorious for damaging decks, pergolas or any exterior wooden structure. After they vertically penetrate the surface, they will continue horizontally to make safe harborage for their eggs.
- WaspsAs the spring rains give way to the abundant sunshine and steady heat of mid- summer, wasp activity reaches its peak. Paper wasps build a simple nest consisting of one layer of open cells called “combs.” These nests typically hang suspended from horizontal surfaces that include but may not be limited to window ledges, shutters, overhangs, swing sets, decks, fences, gazebos and porch roofs.
- TicksSimilar to mosquito management in treatment aspects, adult ticks typically emerge closer to March as temperatures become consistently above freezing. Due to this, programs are typically started in late March to early April.
- Crickets“A lady called us because she said her house was infested with crickets. We went out there to do an inspection. No matter how hard we tried, we couldn’t find any crickets.”
- EarwigsMonroe Pest Control Co. Inc. provides an exterior treatment to homes and decks that will eliminate existing wasp nests and repel future infestations. Our application equipment allows us to reach and effectively treat all areas of the house and deck providing outstanding control for up to 60 days. Since we use a general insecticide that is effective on numerous other pests our “wasp clients” also enjoy control of carpenter ants, spiders, earwigs, etc.
- MosquitoesWhether it is a pest control or lawn care company you hire to provide mosquito management, the treatment method is essentially the same. A fine “mist” or light “fog” of an EPA-approved insecticide is directed to the shaded areas around the perimeter of your house and yard to control adult mosquitos who seek out harborage and resting sites.
- FliesWe offer timely and affordable services to control rodents, roaches, flies, ants, common crawling insects, birds, and other occasional or seasonal pests.
- BeetlesAn inspector must be certified through testing and on-site seminars with the office of the Indiana state chemist (OISC) to complete a valid NPMA-33 report. The certified inspector performs a visual inspection of all structures present on a property. In our service area, we are inspecting for evidence and/or damage caused by subterranean termites, powder post beetles, carpenter ants and carpenter bees.
- Hornets
- Yellowjackets“Yellow jackets. They have the ability to continue to sting. With that said, the sting of, say, a bald-faced hornet, is something you won’t forget.”
- Stinging Insects
- Boxelder BugsPests covered under these service plans include (but are mot limited to): Ants, Spiders, Wasps, Stinkbugs, Beetles, Carpenter Bees, Earwigs, Boxelder Bugs, and More!
- Bats“I’ve seen 140 bats come out of a single attic. Bats are protected. We don’t do anything to kill them. We can only work with bats during the late summer because they have their little ones in the spring or early summer. From August through September, we exclude them from the structure. We set up ways for them to get out, but they can’t get back in.”
- MolesServing both commercial and residential properties in Lake, Porter and LaPorte counties, Monroe Pest Control treats for termites, mosquitoes, wasps, mice, moles, hornets, roaches and bedbugs.

- RodentsMonroe Pest Control, Inc. offers services to a wide variety of commercial clients for the control of insects and rodents. Services can be rendered monthly, quarterly, or twice per year depending on the nature of the business and the level of pest prevention desired.
- Mice
- Rats“Mark and I went to a cattle farm that was infested with rats. The farmer was supplementing the cattle feed with a high-protein mix. The bags were stored in a shed. There was spillage. Well, the rats were feeding on that high- protein mix, too. It turned them into ‘super rats.’ They were the biggest rats we’d ever seen and the largest number of rats, too. You could see the feed bags moving. We walked in, and ran out.”
