- FlooringThe remodeled Kitchen now appears immensely larger. The full height cabinetry without the dropped soffit and with the redesigned island and hardwood flooring accents the changes. Indirect lighting, functional lighting and natural lighting provides a bright comfortable work area and a soft elegant ambience when desired. The custom wood Shaker-style cabinetry, the expansive areas of quartz counter tops and backsplashes provide the look of a fine showroom while maintaining the comfortable and warm feeling of home. “For A Home You Will Love” truly reveals the way this Homeowner feels.
- Door Installation/Replacement
- DrywallsItems which were started in Phase I were included and completed in this Basement Remodel since it was more practical with the new walls and all the drywall removed.

- CarpetingAn architect was employed to provide the expertise needed for plans to install the skylights in the existing roof. Once the city’s Building Department provided us with their approval, the clients’ artesian creativity took over and wanted some really artistic features. We were able to achieve success in all areas including the electrical which was quite complicated. The selection of wood for the Dining Room ceiling was critical so to achieve the look the client desired without contrasting with the existing hardwood flooring. All the paint colors were updated and the perfection of all my trade alliances did not go unnoticed by the clients. The partial Scope of Work is as follows: millwork, doors, RA grilles, insulation, drywall, finish carpentry, tile, cabinetry, painting and carpeting just to name a few.
- Skylight Repair/ReplacementAfter twenty five years of dreaming of more natural light into their upstairs Office, the decision was made to now add skylights. After learning of the extent of the construction to add the skylights properly, the Homeowners decided to move out and have their home completely renovated. Their ideas and desires were endless and creative.

- New ConstructionOur expertise focuses on remodeling projects to ambitious new construction. The common thread across all our work is Makoski Construction’s dedication to understanding, exploring and bringing our clients’ dreams to life.
- SunroomsThe existing kitchen needed a fresh new design appeal to allow a more spacious look while creating an entertainment friendly atmosphere and to meet the Homeowner’s gourmet needs and staying within the existing walls. The Kitchen needed various corrective measures which included the architectural design, structural stability, removal of acoustical soffitted ceiling and rerouting the plumbing above, the peninsula changing into an island, hot water heat layout, the AC ducting, and to keep with the Breakfast Room table being used every day. What was also evident was the desire to allow for today’s lighting technology which the kitchen was severely lacking and to add natural lighting with the addition of windows. The challenge was to create a gathering area, which is always the kitchen, and allow the overflow to extend into the family room and sun room without segregating the crowd. The approach had to incorporate a user friendly island kitchen with keeping the chef in mind and simultaneously serve as the dramatic centerpiece of a spacious and functional open floor plan.
- LandscapingThe front door, the landscaping and the entire look is what the Homeowners imagined and the feeling of warmth to their home.
- Retaining WallsThe other side was not as easy with the stone retaining wall and the location of the downspout by the walkout Basement door.
- Window Installation/Replacement
- GuttersThe arched ceiling and gable front, the two (2) colors of gutters and the drainage off the roof were creatively completed by the sophisticated trades.
- SidingThe Clients decided that the concrete color of the Porch should match the exterior stone veneer siding.
- Residential Roof RepairThe biggest challenge was to make the Homeowners understand that this is a big project to just to add skylights let alone renovate the entire home. It was explained to the client that the complete roof in the skylight area had to be removed including their bookcase/desk and the bearing walls had to be utilized to support the new rafter layout for the skylights they wanted. We were not allowed to touch the exterior per the HOA, but the roofing contractor was very accommodating and knowledgeable. With the Federal tax credit, it was easy to determine that the solar powered Velux skylights were the only way to proceed. As the list of renovations grew, this became a whole house remodel. The electrical desires were demanding but all were accomplished.
