Gateway Mortgage Company, L.P. began brokering and servicing mortgage loans throughout the State of Missouri in 1990. Although the original ownership group of Don Davis and Robert Chambers (along with 6 of the largest Home Builders in St. Louis) no longer has a financial interest in today's organization, they built a strong foundation of customers that continue to use Gateway Mortgage for all their financing needs. Then in 1999, RJ Commercial Funding, Inc. (RJCFI) was formed by Jay Bader and Ryan Sandvoss, both of whom were Loan Officers for a local mortgage company: Gateway Residential Group (which just happened to be a spin-off of Gateway Mortgage Company, L.P.). Although the original purpose was to broker commercial loans, the opportunity presented itself to purchase all of the assets of Gateway Residential Group, along with all naming rights to Gateway Mortgage Company, L.P., which is exactly what happened. RJCFI then decided to simplify things and filed with the State of Missouri to do business as Gateway Mortgage. Although RJCFI is a new company, it's actually a continuation of "Gateway," an established mortgage company in the St. Louis market for the past 14 years. Many of the core individuals that were a part of Gateway in the past continue to work for the new company today. "The name might have changed, but the dedication to our customers remains in tact." Built on the same principles as before: 1.) Strong relationships with real estate professionals 2.) Quality processors and closers 3.) Top loan officers and 4.) A well-balanced portfolio of both purchases and refinances, the company continues to improve. Our mission of "making every customers' experience with Gateway as enjoyable and worry-free as possible" remains a focal point for our success. The referrals we get from past customers continue to be a major source for how we originate loans. Gateway Mortgage's ongoing commitment to making the customer happy is what we feel sets us apart from other mortgage companies not only in the St. Louis market, but also throughout the entire United States.
