In 1949, Wilfred Wendt was a co-founder of D&J Press Company, a company that manufactured hydraulic baling presses for the scrap processing industry. After years of working with his father, Thomas A. Wendt Sr. continued the family commitment to the industry by forming his own company, Wendt Corporation, in 1977. Wendt Corporation specialized in different equipment but remained focused on the same industry and many of the same customers. Automobile shredding systems, shredder wear parts, nonferrous separation, scrap tire processing and balers are among the products Wendt Corporation provides.
