Cross of Christ Lutheran Church was organized as a congregation in November of 1994. We are a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, part of the worldwide communion of Lutheran churches. We worshiped at Mountain View Elementary School until March 1997, when our first building was finished at 121st and Lowell Blvd. We began with under 200 members; now we are a growing church of about 1,000 folks. We began with one pastor who worked to develop the congregation and its ministry. Over the years, we have added pastors and other staff in order to provide opportunities to worship, grow in faith, and serve the community and the world. In 1999-2000 we completed a building addition that helped to realize the vision of beginning a Christian preschool as part of our ministry. Another addition of classrooms in 2008 provided more space for Sunday school, the preschool, and weekday kindergarten classes. In December of 2012 we completed another major building addition that added office space, a choir room, a larger youth room and additional classrooms.
