A truly local haunt with a warm and inviting atmosphere and excellent service. The staff treat you as family and, if you can look past the dark, beach shop decor, you will find a diamond in the rough waiting for you.The menu is diverse and the daily specials are ever changing. The "Bubba Burger" and "Frizzled Onions" stand toe to toe with a vegan Toltec Salad (both are amazing). Daily specials typically pay homage to New Orleans and the Carribbean with a heavy dose of seasonal Irish pride. For those so inclined, St Maarten Cafe offers a moderate selection of beers on tap and can mix just about anything you can name from their well-developed liquor selection. Their signature creations range from wild to mild but all are well balanced with skilled hands behind the mixing.Hands down, one of the best places I have eaten in Charlottesville. Geared towards the locals, you won't find frills but you will find friends and family.
