- Pediatric CareLiz Green, OTR/L has 20 years of experience as a pediatric occupational therapist (OT) in a variety of clinical settings, including schools, private practice, inpatient, and outpatient hospital settings. Her passion is to empower neurodistinct individuals in meeting self-directed goals that promote meaningful participation in work, school and life. She is Board Certified in Pediatrics, as well as Sensory Integration and Praxis Test certified (SIPT-C). She has training in DIR Floortime and Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). She also participated in data collection as part of research on effectiveness of the Evaluation of Ayres Sensory Integration (EASI) through Thomas Jefferson University. Liz is excited to move back home to VA after 11 years in CO to be closer to family. She loves to be outside with her husband and 2 little boys.
- ImmunizationsThese are long term contract positions, and therapists are paid on a per-session basis. An active Virginia license is required, and therapists must be available to see clients after 3:30PM. COVID-19 vaccination is required. Recent graduates with an interest in pediatrics are encouraged to apply.

- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)Katie joined Albemarle Therapy Center as an Occupational Therapist after receiving her Masters of Occupational Therapy from Shenandoah University in May, 2016 and undergraduate degree from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 2000. Katie is Early Intervention certified and enjoys working with families with young children through Early Intervention in Virginia. Katie appreciates working with a variety of school-aged children in the clinical setting to build functional skills including self-care, pre-writing and fine motor skills for children with diagnoses ranging from ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, feeding difficulties and physical disabilities. Katie specifically enjoys working with families with a multidisciplinary, collaborative team to support children with feeding difficulties and uses a combination of behavioral, motor and sensory approaches to increase acceptance of new foods, develop chewing skills and address oral aversions. Additional areas of interest include oral motor differences and oral structural differences, such as tongue and lip tie relative to feeding difficulties. Katie has received training on the CAN-EAT (Comfort, Acceptance, Nutrition) approach used by the University of North Carolina pediatric feeding team and has received mentoring from feeding professionals at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond. Katie and her husband have lived in Charlottesville since 2003. Together they find great joy in parenting their two school-aged sons.
- Physical TherapyCara Kiernan is a Pediatric Physical Therapist with over 26 years of experience. Cara received her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at Boston University and her Master’s degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. Cara began her career working with the INOVA Health System at Fairfax Hospital for Children in 1996 as a staff physical therapist with a promotion to Senior Pediatric PT treating both NICU, inpatient pediatric patients, and further develop the pediatric outpatient program. In 2003, Cara began to see early intervention clients for Fairfax and Prince William Country. She joined ITC of Fairfax- Falls Church as a full-time employee in the fall of 2011 and aided in development of state level modules NICU eligibility infants and served on the statewide committee to assist with determining eligibility. Cara relocated with her family to Charlottesville in summer of 2021 and joined ATC in the summer of 2022. In her free time, she enjoys figure skating and dog hikes with her family.
- Occupational TherapyO’nae graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science and a Master of Occupational Therapy. She has previous experience working with children in pediatric outpatient clinics and adults in the acute care setting. O’nae will be returning to Albermarle Therapy Center following her Level 2 fieldwork placement in the Waynesboro clinic.
- Aquatic TherapyGillian is a 2018 graduate of Shenandoah University with a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in Biology in 2017 from Shenandoah University. She has 3 years of experience working in an outpatient pediatric setting in different parts of Virginia; as well as experience with aquatic therapy and Hippotherapy. Gillian is passionate about helping children and their families become the most functional and independent as possible. She enjoys providing creative and holistic approaches to every therapy session. When not working, Gillian enjoys to her plants and garden, reading mystery novels, and taking care of her three cats. Gillian currently works in the Waynesboro location.
