My name is Thuy Phan (Pronounced Ty or Ty San). I am the owner of "Love Sushi" formally "Sushi101" (Located in the University City area by UNCC). I have owned this restaurant since 1997. We are a family owned business. My heritage is Vietnamese, but I have worked 25 plus years in Japanese restaurants. I have used this knowledge to create quality sushi and other fine Japanese cuisine. And I have even employed a Japanese Sushi Chief that has helped me raise the bar on the quality of our sushi. The food is ok but that is not the problem with this restaurant. The problem is the wait staff, the rude skinny hostess and the female bartender that would not allow us to sit in her section so she can sit around and watch TV. Our family pays good money to eat there and we were quite embarrassed when we were asked to get up from our seats to sit somewhere else. We were told the couch had reservations. It's funny because no one sat there the whole time we ate our meal. Not only did they make us get up but we were LIED to ! We have always tipped very well and even came to know some of the wait staff whom are no longer there. (wonder why?) In these times especially businesses need to appreciate their customers to ensure they don't fail. I will recommend no one eat there. As I wrote earler the food is OK, but the customer service, well there is none.
