- CryotherapyIf you elect to proceed with any procedures (e.g.- biopsy or cryotherapy/aka “freezing” of skin lesions) during your visit, please be aware that these procedures are billed separately from the office visit itself. Procedure fees are not covered by your specialist office visit co-pay and depending on how much you have already paid toward your deductible at the time of your visit, you may receive an additional bill for these procedures. The same is true for self-pay patients.
- Primary CareSome health insurance plans require a referral from your primary care physician prior to your consultation appointment with a specialist. Some require that a referral be obtained before
- UltrasoundBefore the procedure begins, your leg will be cleansed, prepped and marked. Next, we’ll use tumescent (a local anesthetic solution) to numb all along & around the varicose vein that we’re treating. Using tumescent numbing not only makes the procedure more comfortable for you, it also protects the tissue surrounding the vein during treatment. After numbing, we’ll use ultrasound as a guide for creating a small entry point (think of this as a tiny tunnel) directly into the vein, which provides access for the laser fiber. Then the laser fiber is guided along the vein, again using ultrasound, until it is positioned just below the junction where the blood flow problems are originating. The laser is then activated and slowly pulled back out, delivering thermal energy along the length of the vein. As a result, the walls of the vein contract and close, causing the blood to be re-routed to other healthy veins in your leg.
- ChemotherapyThere are several effective methods for treating skin cancer including surgical excision, curettage and electrodessication, radiation therapy, cryosurgery, topical chemotherapy and Mohs Micrographic Surgery. The method chosen will depend upon factors such as location, size and prior therapy.
- Radiation Therapy
- Mohs SurgeryThe best candidates for Mohs surgery are those with visible skin cancers in areas with delicate or thin skin, like the face, fingers, toes, and genitals. More advanced melanomas that are deeper into the skin are generally not great candidates.
- BotoxFace taping uses tape and sticky adhesive on the face overnight in order to attempt to restrict movement such as frowning and furrowing the brow, in order to prevent the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Sometimes referred to as “preventative Botox”.
- Liposuction
- Laser ResurfacingThere are a number of ways experts are using PRP as a compliment to other treatments and procedures, including stimulating hair growth in eyebrow alopecia, under eye dark circles, in facial volume loss if a patient is not a candidate for fillers, after laser resurfacing to enhance results and improve wound healing, or in addition to other laser treatments for acne scarring.
