- As a young boy growing up in Southern Egypt, Asaad Malak began learning the jewelry business from his father in his family’s jewelry business. It was at this time that he became passionate about offering a quality product at the best price to his customer. At the age of 14, Asaad opened his first business with the idea of crafting and designing crosses and other religious symbols. In 1980, Asaad Malak moved to Westchester County, NY where he worked in New York’s Diamond District and opened his first retail jewelry store. As an importer, manufacturer, and expert in the industry, the most important lesson he learned was that the most exceptional engagement rings begin with a high quality diamond! Nearly 20 years ago Asaad Malak and his family relocated to Charlotte and opened his first store in the Arboretum in South Charlotte. Over the years Asaad Malak has seen Malak Jewelers grow into one of the Southeast’s largest direct diamond importers.
