The YMCA-Harris Branch is part of the greater-Charlotte, N.C., area of YMCAs. This particular branch was formed as members of the community continually voiced concerns about teenagers and a lack of supportive and encouraging programs for them. The YMCA-Harris Branch continued expanding after its initial inception and now sponsors a variety of teen and after-school programs. The facility also boast a fully-equipped fitness center with a line of cardiovascular equipment, free weights, weight machines and more. A deli caters within the facility, and the YMCA-Harris Branch also features a twin court gym, indoor and outdoor tracks, indoor and outdoor pools, a cardio theatre, an indoor and outdoor chapel, a steam room, a sauna and a child-watching area.
