Founded in 2006, Highland Creek Elementary School serves more than 920 students in kindergarten through grade five. It also offers before- and after-school programs and is located in Charlotte, N.C. The school s academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as math, social studies, reading and science. It also provides instruction in art, music, physical education, media skills and computers. The school offers special education programs for students with special needs. Its parent-teacher association provides monetary support and human resources to the school. The school has a more than 51-acre campus that includes a media center, art room, computer laboratory, six learning cottages and classrooms. Highland Creek Elementary School is a part of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools.
