Collinswood Language Academy serves students in kindergarten through grade five. It offers a Spanish dual-language immersion program that includes instruction in English and Spanish to students. Its academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as reading, mathematics, visual arts, science and physical education. The academy additionally offers the English as a Second Language program. Collinswood Language Academy has a media center that stocks print and multimedia reading and reference materials. It is located in Charlotte, N.C., and is a part of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, which governs various elementary, middle and high schools. The district operates through athletics, audiovisual services, communications, child nutrition services, human resources, health services and transportation departments.
