American Forest Management Inc. formed in 2003 from a merger of Shaw, McLeod, Belser and Hurlbutt, Inc. with Canal Forest Resources. Located in Charlotte, N.C., it is one of the largest forest consulting and real estate brokerage firms in the United States. It offers an array of services, such as forest/land management, appraisal, technical/data, wildlife management, wood flow, support, environmental and real estate/land. In 2007, American Forest Management Inc. acquired Sustainable Forest Technologies, the consulting firm for International Paper.
