LifePoint Inc. is the designated Organ Procurement Organization (OPO) for organ recovery services in South Carolina. It provides organ, tissue and ocular donor services to 62 hospitals throughout the state. The center provides professional/public education regarding such donations, provides educational/emotional support to families of potential donors and is the organ, eye and tissue recovery organization. LifePoint Inc. has certification from the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The center is Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA) accredited.
