These people are the best! My daughter received a replacement key for her apartment only to discover that, after a 9 hour drive home, it would not work. As her friends and roommates were all out of town for the holiday, she had to spend the night in a hotel. Her out of state landlord gave her permission to have the lock picked and then replaced at her expense. I called these folks and told them I would pay for the expenses. However, when my daughter arrived with the key the owner looked at it and said it had been poorly cut. He reworked the key and asked her to go try it, indicating that if it did not work she should call him and he would be there in five minutes. It worked on the first try. I was fully prepared to pay in the neighborhood of $200 for the service call and to have the locks replaced. I was just grateful they were willing to help her out on the eve of a holiday. Oh yeah, he charged her $5 for recutting the key. The man has to be a father...

We are a prof. firm with skilled technicians-in business 146+ yrs. As any businessman knows, there is a cost for doing business (taxes, insurance, liability, training, overhead) When she called we dropped what we were doing & came. She was locked out in the cold & rain. Upon arrival we assessed the situation and opened the door for the customer. I unlocked the top lock-she didn't realize it was in the locked position. It is a special spring lock. I only charged a minimum amount, not full rate. It was close by & the door yielded to pressure. Any reasonable person knows there is a charge regardless of the outcome. Her concerns are unfounded-our charges are fair. She should apologize. She doesn't appreciate our expertise in solving her problem without having to drill a door or break a window at much greater expense. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and will continue to do excellent quality work for all our customers in a timely fashion with skill and professional quality.
I would NEVER EVER recommend this company to anybody. We just moved and live around the corner. We got locked out of our house. The house is built in 1840 and has those really old square lock boxes on the inside of the door. I had the key for the lock above this but somehow the latch on the inside of the old one flipped up. Anyway, all the guy did was shove the door open. Absolutely NOTHING else. And he charged me $ 45.00. for a service fee. That's just bad business practice in my view. They could have been have been nice and charged me nothing since it took nothing or even $10.00 0r $ 20.00. BUT $ 45.00 for putting your weight into a door? If they had been nice we would have been happy to use them as they are right around the corner. Now instead I'm going to write as many negative reviews as I can and tell everyone I know about how the Jantzen lock and Safe Co.isn't very nice to their customers. Like I said..Bad business practices. BTW, I had to highlight 1 star just to submit.
