Welcome to Home House Press, where we are passionate about South Carolina history. The history of our state is important and we are eager to share it with the world. We know that to understand today's issues we must study our pastâ??the actions, words, and intentions of our ancestors, black and white, male and female, rich and poor, from Bluffton to Walhalla, Fort Mill to Ridgeville. South Carolina's impact on the nation and the world is far greater than our size would suggest. As New York Times columnist Gail Collins has written, a good half of United States history has been devoted to trying to keep South Carolina from acting out.
