General Info

Dr. Louis Haenel earned his medical degree from Rowan-SOM Medical School in New Jersey and completed his residency at Kennedy Memorial Hospital, followed by a fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). He is board certified in endocrinology and metabolism. Dr. Haenel directed the endocrine division and endocrinology fellowship program at Rowan-SOM and has advanced practice in diabetes management, including pump therapy and continuous glucose monitoring. He has extensive experience in the evaluation and ultrasound guided biopsy of nodular thyroid disease and thyroid cancer management. He currently heads the endocrinology section for the national Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners.
