Jefferson Elementary School is an educational institution that serves more than 600 students in grades four through six. Its academic curriculum includes math, science, language arts, reading, and health and physical education. The school has a staff of over 80 certified teachers and paraprofessionals that includes custodians, computer technicians, media specialists, psychologists, social workers, literacy coaches, school nurses, and physical and health education instructors. It also provides meal and transportation services to the students. The school organizes a variety of extracurricular activities, such as band, chorus, basketball program, and art and music concerts. Jefferson Elementary School is operated by Charleston Community School District No. 1 and is located in Charleston, Ill.
