Residential Services, located in Chapel Hill, N.C., is a private, nonprofit organization. It provides living options and related support services to people with mental and physical disabilities. The center, founded in 1974, serves adults and children in its residential communities in Chapel Hill and Carrboro areas in North Carolina. It supports more than 10 group homes for adults and nearly 5 homes for children with developmental disabilities. The center also coordinates many other supported living arrangements and case management services to individuals. Additionally, it also offers an independent living program to provide independence and community integration for individuals living in their own apartments and houses. Residential Services employs a trained staff that provides assistance to residents with decision-making, financial management and medical issues.
