I bought, on their advice, a bottle of veuve-clicquot Grand Dame champagne. Now, I drink beer. This was for my wife's birthday. I explained I didn't know anything about wine, and was going by their expertise. It cost $180, and they boasted it was "old vintage". We stored it on its side in a cool room, and finally opened it to celebrate one day.It was bad. We poured it back in, and I took it back. Basically, they said "Too bad. You should have known it was a risk." After much discussion, the owner took out $60 and gave it to me, saying it was out of his own pocket and the goodness of his heart.As it happened, the son of a good friend is a wine expert (as in, a degree, years of experience, and works for one of the most exclusive wine shops in the world. He was astounded at their reaction.Last week, I went to Bottle Values in Bethpage, and repeated the story to two gentlemen who worked there. They couldn't believe it. I purchased another bottle of Grand Dame there, and they assured me if there was anything wrong, anything at all, they would give me another bottle, or a comparable value brand, or a refund.We've been going to Frank's for over 20 years. I will never set foot in there again.

Not the store it used to be 20 years ago but still better than most in the area.
