- Stroke RehabilitationMercer Health is now part of The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s Telestroke Network. The Telestroke Network utilizes video technology that directly links Ohio State stroke specialists to the our hospital physicians. This allows Ohio State’s team to interview the patient, view test results and vital signs and prescribe medications to be administered within minutes. Ohio State’s stroke specialists then work together with physicians at Mercer Health to determine what the next best step is for the patient’s treatment. Sometimes patients can be successfully treated locally. If an advanced level of care is required, a transfer to Ohio State’s Stroke Comprehensive Center is arranged.

- ElectrocardiogramAn electrocardiogram (EKG) uses temporary electrodes on your chest and limbs to monitor, track and document your heart’s electrical activity (which controls your heartbeats) for diagnostic purposes. A computer translates the information into a wave pattern your healthcare provider can interpret. This is a quick, noninvasive test that doesn’t hurt. You can get an EKG while lying down and resting or while you’re exercising as part of a stress test.

- Nuclear MedicineNuclear imaging is used to study organ and tissue function. A tiny amount of a radioactive substance is used during the procedure to assist in the exam. The radioactive substance, called a radionuclide (radiopharmaceutical or radioactive tracer), is absorbed by body tissue. Nuclear Medicine images can assist the physician in diagnosing many diseases and conditions including; analyzing kidney and spleen function, imaging blood flow and function of the heart and scanning lungs for respiratory and blood-flow problems.

Patients who suffer from chronic pain, including conditions such as sciatica, migraines, back pain and more, may benefit from interventional pain management services. - HysterectomyOur women’s reproductive system health services go beyond the childbearing stages. The most common gynecologic services, such as annual well-woman exams, menstrual cycle management, pap smears and clinical breast exams are provided but so are specific services such as peri-menopause care, menopause counseling and hormone therapy, pelvic floor disorders and more. If required, gynecological surgical interventions, such as dilation and curettage (D&C), hysteroscopy, ablations and hysterectomy, are provided in our Surgery Center.
