The Hawkeye Area Community Action Program is responsible for developing and delivering the state of Iowa s anti-poverty plan for the counties of Benton, Iowa, Johnson, Jones, Linn and Washington. The agency is a nonprofit, public and private organization that provides a variety of services to low-income families and individuals, including transitional housing, weatherization, childcare, maternal and child health care, food, a trust for homeless children, services for seniors living in rural areas and counseling that pertains to the policies and aid offered by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Hawkeye Area Community Action Program is headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
