I purchased a unit for my father a few years ago. He has since move out. The biggest asset of the Blair House was their head of maintenance. His first name was Stan (can't remember his last name). This guy kept the complex in meticulous shape. You could eat off of the garage floor in the winter. It was pretty amazing. It kept the building looking like a first class operation. The downside was that the Board was not very good at enforcing existing rules and policies. I understand from people who still live there that this is still the case. If it didn't affect them (the Board) they didn't care. The biggest lack of enforcement dealt with people who would smoke in the stairwells or on the floors, outside of their apartments. Despite numerous complaints, nothing was ever done. It is too bad that behavior couldn't have taken place on a floor where one of the Board members lived. The enforcement, I suspect, would have been a little different. Too self serving to suit my father.
