Established in 1972, the Cedar Park Fire Department works to provide fire prevention, code enforcement, emergency operations and rescue services. It is also responsible for hazardous materials response, code enforcement, automobile extrication, and dive, water and high-angle rescue services. The department operates a community emergency response team and conducts fire department s tours. The Cedar Park Fire Department operates a communication and dispatch center that coordinates responses to various emergency and nonemergency calls. It also supports various fire safety and education programs. The department additionally conducts several safety inspections of schools, health and day care facilities, preschools, and fairs, carnivals and special events.
