The Tribal Work Experience Program, also known as TWEP, includes provision of permanent, unsubsidized employment opportunities for individual participants. It offers a variety of work experience and training services for the unemployed and employable members of households. The program also features placement assistance for individuals in various nonprofit organizations. The Tribal Work Experience Program is offered by Cherokee Nation, which is a nonprofit organization that provides a range of community, commerce, career, educational, health and human services. Cherokee Nation s career services unit participates in adult education, classroom and vocational training, direct employment and out-of-school activities. It maintains a human services division that administers comprehensive social and educational programs, including support opportunities for tribal citizens and citizens of the United States.
