The Medina Valley Independent School District provides several educational programs for the academic and intellectual development of children. It operates elementary, middle and high schools. The school district enrolls more than 3,000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. Its academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as mathematics, science, social studies, fine arts, physical education and language arts. The Medina Valley Independent School District has a variety of special programs, including special education, English as a Second Language, gifted and talented education, accelerated reading, Title I, Head Start, optional extended year and alternative education. It additionally provides opportunities to participate in a variety of athletic activities, such as basketball, baseball, golf, football, volleyball, track, soccer, tennis, softball and cross country. The Medina Valley Independent School District is located in Castroville, Texas.
