Leech Lake Early Childhood Development provides flexible academic programs with emphasis on the development of basic learning and thinking skills. The facility s academic curriculum includes classes in psychology and language arts. It employs social workers, nurses, language pathologists, occupational therapists, library assistants and custodian staff members. Leech Lake Early Childhood Development maintains a library that offers a range of educational and learning electronic and print resources and materials. It has a child care center that features a variety of developmentally appropriate opportunities for sensory, motor and language learning. It also operates a head start program that serves more than 200 children and includes more than 10 classrooms.
